"I cried when you passed away,
I still cry today.
Although I loved you dearly, I couldn't make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke my heart to prove to me
He only takes the best." ♥️♥️♥️

Thank you to all of Dennis' friends and family who have lifted me up in prayer and in spirits for 2 long years. They have been empty, yet fulfilled. I believe it's been his strength that has carried me through, yet a piece of me remains in disbelief of the reality. He will be in my heart until we meet again.

I know and believe Dennis blessed not only his family, Meagan, Spencer, Kennedy, his parents and siblings, and me, but others as well. Please treasure the memories and share them!

I'm crushed... Dennis and I were best friends growing up and he was as much a brother to me as my own family. Time creates separation sometimes, but Dennis is part of me, part of my heart, my soul, my identity as a person on this earth. We lost a GREAT soul, I'm just devastated. I love you Dennis.

Dear Pat,

Thank you for your sincere wishes and remembrances of Dennis. There were many who would call him "Friend." I know you shared a special bond with the Jones family. What a nice tribute.

Best,

Margie

Hi Margie, I didn't know Dennis well and am very sad this happened. He seemed a once in a lifetime husband. Hoping you find solace and can happily keep him and his memory alive through your kids and grandkid(s). I will keep you in my thoughts through this unthinkable time. Remember to take care of yourself too!!! God Bless, Terri🌈

A poem inspired by Dennis' departure from this life on earth:

"Life is fleeting, and at times, seemingly defeating. At those times reflect on a time, when it seemed we could all win, way back then. As we pick up once again, let's remember our friend(s) from a time long ago when, some of us had an Afro. Some of us boarded and some of appeared to have lorded. For a time, what did we know a call was a dime. But its getting close to time, because I've lost another friend of mine. So I'm inclined to get my house in order, I don't want to be out of order. We can't stay in this land, no matter how you plan, we are just man. With a gift that should be taken, I'm tired of being forsaken. In the end all we have is a friend, He'll stick closer than a brother, and yes He'll hover. Waiting and wanting us, not to miss His bus. Don't you know that we are all a soldiers probably a colonel because hope springs eternal. Lets try and avoid the impending inferno. Life lessons learned and bought, let's give our fellow man some thought. I'm not saying we have to be perfect, but being in motion toward the ultimate prize is what I surmise".

May Blessings and peace be with you all.

When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, why cry for a soul that's free?
Miss me a little but not too long and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared, miss me--but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take and each must go alone
It's all part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, miss me--but let me go.

I first met Dennis when he began dating my daughter Margie in junior h.s. He was a handsome young man, very polite and rather quiet. As time went by, it was easy to see how devoted they were to each other. In time, Dennis became like another son to me, and our families shared many events both happy and sad. My heart goes out in deep sympathy to Dorothy, John, Ricky, Angie and Lisa, their children and all the Dennis' family of origin, as well as my own daughter, grandchildren and precious great granddaughter. It's hard to believe he will not be there to pick me up at the airport when I visit and help me check in to my various lodgings. Dennis was what is called in Yiddish, a "mensch" which means a REALLY GOOD person. I will miss his strong voice, his kindness and his devotion to family. I know he is with the angels now, and I pray that he may rest there in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dennis Jones. I will always remember my days as a Gladiator at Montgomery Jr. High. Dennis was an amazing athlete, teammate, and friend. I will always remember the undying love and devotion he shared with Margie Glickman. The two were inseparable and a powerful icon of true love. For decades now, whenever I'm in a conversation about powerful true love, I always mention Margie and Dennis. I know I'm not alone. I pray that God blesses and comforts Margie and the rest of the family. May Margie and the family know that we are always here to help and support in any way. Do not hesitate to reach out for anything.

To Margie Glickman Jones and Dennis's children, grandchild, and family: To say that I am stunned almost beyond words would be a vast understatement. Dennis Jones was a friend, a good and gentle man, and a quiet and humble soul. I met Dennis and Margie at Montgomery J.H.S. in 1972. The lifetime of love you gave to one another is (and should be) an inspiration to all of us. To the family: You are all in my prayers. I wish I were able to make it in from Arizona to the visitation. Margie, when you are able, I would love to be back in contact with you via my e-mail address. Also, if you are ever on Facebook, there are many people in the Kearny and Montgomery groups who are waiting to embrace you in this time of your bereavement. Love to all...
