Yimegnushal Demissie was born October 19, 1968 in Gondar, Ethiopia, to Tsehaynesh Nadew and Aleka Demissie Assfaw. She spent her childhood in Gondar and attended the local school's there. Some time after completing High School, Yimegnushal moved to the United States and enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, where she later graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
Yimegnushal entered the workforce and was a software engineer for nineteen years at various companies, holding several different positions. She started her career with Nokia and then moved on to Solekai Systems, later working with the San Diego State University Research Foundation in Technical and Analytical Support, and ended her career with Leidos.
In 2012, Yimegnushal married Theodros Ambaw and continued to excel in her career path. She was a talented and dedicated software engineer, known for her strong work ethic and excellent technical skills. She was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that her projects were successful.
With a heavy heart and sadness we now grieve the untimely passing of Yimegnushal, which occured on April 27, 2023. However, her legacy as a devoted Wife, loving Sister and brilliant software engineer will live on. She has left a lasting impact on all those whom knew her, and she will be dearly missed by all of her family, friends, and colleagues.
