WILMA JEAN EDGE

Wilma Jean Edge, affectionately known as "Pookie" born March 26, 1954, in San Diego, CA. She is the firstborn to the late Ella Mae and Richard Lothridge. Her brother Roy Spencer, and her sister Evelyn Kay Frazier, who all preceded her in death. She attended various elementary schools, and graduated from Lincoln High School. 

At an early age, she accepted Christ at New Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of L.R. Sanford. Wilma was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church. Later she became a member along with her husband, Bro Leo Edge of the New Paradise Baptist Church August 11, 2013, under the leadership Pastor James Moore, Jr. 

Wilma worked for the San Diego Unified School District for 30 years until she retired in the year of 2012, as a Food Service Supervisor. 

Wilma loved her husband, Leo and family dearly, she never met a stranger, she was a sweetheart and meant much to many people. 

On June 28, 2024, Wilma entered the room that was prepared for her, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus Christ. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Leo Anthony Edge, Wilma's Children: Terreal Shegog (Shameka), Myesha Shegog-Scott (Terrill), Marilyn Shegog (Conrad). Grandchildren: Sakia, LaRoen, LaMonica, Shon, Karmari, Tyrine, Amari, Tyani, DeCarlos, Emonie, Dymond, Saniyah, Steven Jr. Great-grandchild: LaNiece Heynar. 

When I get to Heaven, I'm gonna jump and shout
Nobody will be able to put me out
My mother, she'll be waiting, my father, my sisters too
We'll get together and walk around Heaven all day....
