SOLLUNA MOLARKA MOYOAH Obituary

Solluna Molarka Moyoah (formerly known as Mildred Pate), age 76, of San Diego, California,
passed away on November 15, 2024. Solluna transitioned peacefully with her son, Safa
Moyoah, by her side and with other family and friends nearby.
Solluna was born in Laurinburg, North Carolina on March 14, 1948, to Annie Louise Scott Pate
and Martin Pate, Jr. She was the oldest of ten siblings who was like a second mother to her
younger siblings. In addition to living in San Diego, Solluna lived in Washington DC where she
worked as a Dental Assistant and attended Dental School at Howard University. She also lived
on the island of Bermuda, the oldest self-governing overseas territory in the British
Commonwealth, and she loved to travel.
Instead of a career in dentistry, Solluna pursued a profession as a gifted holistic healer,
massage therapist, and counselor for over 45 years and owned her own business, Solluna &
Co., for many years in San Diego. She was a Master Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP),
Herbalist, Minister, Teacher, Energeia Personal Insight Counselor (EPIC), and Reiki Master
(from Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning vital life force energy. A
Reiki master can channel the “universal life force energy” to you). Her specialty included
diminishing and eliminating pain and all its derivatives: physical and mental.  She touched the
lives of so many people who were deeply moved by her healing touch, warmth, intelligence,
sensitivity, and compassion. It is difficult to describe the vacuum left by Solluna’s passing.
Solluna is survived by her mother, Annie Louise Scott Pate, her daughter Antoinette Pate, her
son Safa Moyoah, nine siblings (Patricia Goodman(Benjamin), Martin Pate III, Calvin Pate,
Wanda Pate Jones (Stan), Nellie Deloris Pate, Angelo Pate, Ray Pate (Rossel), Gloria Jean Pate,
and Cynthia Denise Rudisell-Ball), grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Solluna wished to be cremated. Celebration of Life Ceremonies are being planned in San
Diego on December 7, 2024, and on a date to be decided in North Carolina.

Before her transition, Solluna owned a phenomenally successful and popular business in San
Diego. Assisting clients who sought relief from physical and /or mental pain, Solluna helped
clients to reclaim vitality, connect with their senses, alleviate long standing complaints,
achieve structural and functional integrity leading to relaxation, healing, renewal, and to
connecting with the Sacred via transformations of mind, body, and soul.
Solluna intuitively selected the healing techniques to attain immediate and long-term benefits
for her clients.  Her therapeutic services included Energeia Personal Insight Counseling,
Acupressure, Aromatherapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Deep and Subtle Tissue Release, Energy
Touch, Facial Massage, Myofascial Release, Polarity Alignment, Pregnancy/ Infant Massage,
Reflexology, Reiki Therapy, Sports Massage, Stone Massage, Swedish Massage, & Trigger Point
Release.
Her impact  is reflected in a sampling of testimonials from her very satisfied clients:
“The 5-star reviews were an understatement, Solluna is the BEST!!!! She is a
wonderful person and incredibly blessed. She is truly heaven sent!!!”
“I'll come to Solluna before I go to a doctor: no matter the issue. She's not just a
massage therapist, she's a dedicated healer.”
“Solluna is AMAZING! She will heal your body, mind and spirit. My muscles get
excited when I have an appointment with her.”
Solluna ended every conversation with the phrase “Blessings of Light and Love.”
Her legacy is found in one of her quotes when she said, "LIFE is about cultivating our
connection to Spirit through healing transformations of our mind, body & soul.”
