Mr. Ricky Jones, age 68, passed away on October 2, 2025, after an extended illness. He was
the third of six siblings born to USN Chief (retired) Granville and Dorothy Jones on September 1, 1957, in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Ricky was baptized at an early age and carried his faith with him throughout his life. He graduated from Stephen Watts Kearny High School in San Diego, California, in 1975, where he was active in sports and known for his competitive spirit and strong character.
After high school, Ricky proudly served his country as a medic in the United States
Army. His time in the service was something he carried with pride, always quick to
support and honor fellow veterans.
In his later years, before his illness, Ricky dedicated himself to witnessing and helping
others, often raising money for those less fortunate. He had a generous heart and a deep
sense of compassion that touched many lives.
Ricky is survived by his loving sisters Lisa Theus (William) and Angela Lewis (Sam),
sisters-in-law Margie Glickman Jones and Virgie White, and his cherished nieces and
nephews: John Jones Jr., Roshune Bracy (Christopher), Meagan Lawrence (Renard),
Spencer Marquez-Jones (Taylor), Karis Theus, Breanna Lewis, Dominique Lewis, Kyle
Theus, and Granville Lewis. He is also survived by a host of aunts, cousins, and friends
who will miss him dearly.
Ricky was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Granville and Dorothy Jones, and
his brothers John Jones Sr., Donald Jones, and Dennis Jones.
Ricky's memory will live on through the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the
legacy of service and kindness he leaves behind.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.” ~ Isaiah 40:31
Soon I will be done, with the troubles of this world, No more weeping nor wailing..I'm going home to live with My Lord.....
