PATALLA JEAN COOK

Patalla Jean Cook, 96, of San Diego, CA passed away on September 28, 2023. Patalla was born on July 02,
1927, to Haywood Charles and Mamie Wilson in Wichita, Kansas. Patalla Jean Cook was the fifth sibling of five
sisters Roberta F. Cook, Rosella B. Harvey, Ana Mae Thomas, and Hattie N, Davis. She loved her sisters and
everything about Wichita, Kansas. The “ Air Capital of the World '' and the best “Entrepreneurial Hub” known to fast-food chains like White Castle and Pizza Hut to name a few.

At the age of 33, Ms. Patalla felt she had enough of good old Kansas so she and her four children moved
out west to Los Angeles, California. While in Los Angeles she enrolled in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Business
College which is now called Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC). She relocated to San Diego, California
to attend Kelsey Jennings Business College to learn secretarial skills. Kelsey Jennings is the new Miramar College.
During her studies, she managed to finish school with high honors and employment at the United States Customs
(Federal and County) Secretary of State Offices. Ms. Patella served her time and later retired to support and care for
her ailing sister and brother-in-law. As she enjoyed life she spent time in her favorite city Las Vegas, NV with her
daughter taking turn-around bus trips to the casino. Along with visiting her granddaughter who gave birth for the
first time in 2005 in Raleigh, NC. She shared great moments with all her kids whether it was traveling or visiting.
The ninety-six years were filled with great laughs and cheers and many grandkids and great-grands. She was

incredibly loved by many and was an excellent caretaker.

Ms. Patalla had a joyful presence and a bubbly personality. She loved her friends and family and filled her
home with warmth and kindness all the time. On September 28, 2023, God had a greater plan which was to light the
torch and open the gates to heaven to receive another angel of glory. We will miss her greatly. Ms. Patalla Jean Cook
is preceded in death by parents and sisters: She will forever be remembered, cherished, missed, and loved by her
family, Sons: Floyd D. Jackson (Brenda), Tyrone G. Jackson (Pat), Dana P. Love (Angie), Daughter: Rita D Mason
(Gregory); Nieces: Terry and Carlotta Harvey; and a host of 11 Grand Kids and 13 Great GrandKids.

Blue days, all of them gone, Nothing but blue skies from now on
