Martha Ann Harris, (aka Ms. Martha or Bone) was the oldest of three children born to Mr. Jessie Davis and Mrs. Irene (Battle) Davis on September 14, 1943, in Morton Mississippi. She confessed Christ at an early age at Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church. Upon Moving to San Diego, she became a member of the Mesa View Baptist Church under the Pastoral Leadership of Dr. Darrow Perkins, Jr. there she remained a member until her passing.
Martha was united in Holy Matrimony to Arthur Lee Harris SR. on December 29, 1967. To this union three children were born, Lisa Ann Harris, San Diego, California, Alfred Lorenzo Harris, San Diego, California, Arthur Lee Harris Jr. San Diego, California. MS. Martha was a kind, loving, compassionate and giving person. She found pleasure and joy working in her community making gift baskets at the holidays, serving breakfast to homeless veterans, and helping anyone that asked. Martha was a lifelong member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5179. She spent several years as Auxiliary President hosting many successful events. But she will always be remembered as one of best employees of the Military Exchange at Miramar Base in San Diego. She proudly retired from her job in October of 2019 after 48 years of dedicated service.
In the quiet morning hours on July 26, 2024, Ms. Martha made her peaceful transition from this earthly life to begin a life eternal with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Martha was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Irene Davis and one loved and cherish Aunt, Nazaree Lloyd (Aunt Pent). Those who remain to cherish her memories along with her husband of 57 years and three children are, two brothers James Tyrone (Shirley) Davis of Jackson Mississippi, Calvin Davis of Morton Mississippi, one Daughter in-love Christina Adams Harris San Diego, California, Maternal Aunts Mary L. Evans of Lena Mississippi, Olivia Watkins of Las Vegas, Nevada. One Grandchild Vivian Lynn Harris Wind of San Diego, California, Nephew Michael Davis of Jackson, Mississippi, Niece Ashley Davis Johnson (Matt) of Jackson, Mississippi, Jonathan Davis of Forrest, Mississippi, and host of relatives, friends, and fur babies.
