I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
Marion was born on February 6, 1928, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Philip Montana, Sr., and Hazel Franklin.. From a young age, she embraced her faith at St. Peter Avenue Church in New Roads, Louisiana, setting a foundation of devotion and love that would guide her throughout her life.
Marion received her early education at Rosenwald Elementary School and graduated from McKinley High School in Baton Rouge in 1947, she furthered her education at Southern University Baton Rouge, Louisiana always cherishing knowledge and the bonds she formed along the way.
In July 1961, Marion made San Diego her new home--a city that would become the heart of her family and her ministry. On November 29, 1969, she united in marriage with Mr. Ewell Danielly, the love of her life. Though they did not have children of their own, the couple's hearts overflowed with affection for their many nieces and nephews, whom they loved as their own.
Mother Danielly's spiritual journey blossomed in San Diego in 1961, where she was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost. Her unwavering faith and deep commitment to her church family inspired many. Over the years, she joyfully served with numerous pastors-Pastor Hill, Pastor John. Davis, Pastor A. D. Kirkpatrick, Pastor Lee, Pastor Collins, Pastor C. Watkins, Pastor Jackson, Superintendent O. B. Booker, and her beloved Pastor Milon Mills-all of whom have since gone home to glory. Through her steadfast service, she became a pillar in the Missionary Church of God in Christ community.
With a heart devoted to service, Mother Danielly was an anointed Sunday School teacher, Pastors Aide President, Trustee Board Member, Announcing Clerk, Prayer Warrior, and cherished Church Mother. She also served as the Calvary District Sunday School Field Representative, always ready to give her energy and love to her fellow saints. Her presence was a blessing, and she was dearly loved by all who knew her.
After forty years of dedicated service, Marion retired from San Diego County as a conservator employee, forming deep friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of so many, and she will be remembered fondly by her friends and colleagues.
Marion was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, her sisters Delores Mills and Josephine Bazile and brother Philip Montana, Jr. On Wednesday morning, August 6, 2025, she answered the Lord's call and was welcomed into eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving sisters, Wilma Owens and June Thompson of San Diego, Gerald Denny of San Antonio, TX; her special niece and devoted caregiver, E'Bony Bazile, who lovingly cared for her over the past five years; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, the saints of San Diego, and countless friends whose lives were made brighter by her presence.
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
