Leonard Jones was a loving Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He set examples of honesty, loyalty and determination. He valued education and received three advanced College Degrees despite not graduating from High School. He received his last College Degree, a Master of Science in Criminal Justice in 2017 at the age of 75. He enjoyed a successful career in law enforcement as a San Diego Police Officer and the 1st African-American Criminal Investigator in the County of San Diego. He owned and operated the House of Africa shop, which provided the black community, and City at large, access to African clothing, jewelry, art, hair products and pride in self. His sense of adventure took him to 15 Countries of the world. An aspiring Actor, in 2008 he won the Tournament of Plays TOPPER Award for Best Minor Role in a Drama, as Reverend Sykes in to Kill Mockingbird. Leonard most successful adventure was as a loving father to his only child, Johannah . His role as a father became his first priority in life. He is blessed to be the Grandfather to his only grandchild, Jordyn Savannah Wilson, who is a source of great love and pride. Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Dovie Peavy Jones, Sisters Beverly Gause, Henriette Kirby, Valerie Johnson, Veronica Bell, Brothers Lenwood Jones and Milton Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents Harriette and Leonard Jones, Sr. and Sisters Lorraine Cannon and Leona Reese.
