Richard Kenneth Dean was born on March 12, 1943, in Memphis Tennessee, to Richard Kenneth Foxx and Artelia Dean. He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and dedication to family.
Richard was a man of strong faith and attended New Philadelphia Baptist Church throughout his early life. He graduated from Caperville High School in 1961 and, soon after, answered the call to serve his country by joining the military in 1962. His distinguished service took him to numerous locations, including Pleasantville, California; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Naval Station Subic Bay in the Philippines; Japan; Whidbey Island in Washington State; and San Diego, California.
After his military service, Richard continued to serve his country as a civilian, working at North Island for over 20 years painting aircraft and performing various duties. Even after retirement, he remained active by working in local stores, always staying busy and connected to his community.
Richard was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life- he loved fishing, watching sports, following politics and the news, and immersing himself in silent films and documentaries. His quiet wisdom, sense of humor, and devotion to those he loved will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Cecilia Dean, his daughter Jennifer Dean and his granddaughter Dezirae Dean.
Richard leaves behind a large and loving family:
