JOVAN J. SANFORD~WESLEY

Mr. Jovan Jewrell Sandford Wesley was born August 30, 1986, in San Diego, CA. the cherished son of Charmayne Evette Sanford and Embry Tracy Wesley. He brought immense joy as the first grandchild to Carolyn and Embry Wesley Jr., and the only grandchild to Joy Faye and Charles Sanford.

From a young age, Jovan showed a passion for learning and creativity. He attended Oak Park Elementary and later graduated from the School of Performing Arts. His love for sports was evident as he lettered in baseball at Crawford High School and was remembered as a legend in the Oak Park Little League.

Jovan also pursued higher education at San Diego State University, where he continued to embrace his love for learning and made lasting friendships.

Jovan’s interests were diverse and vibrant. He was an avid gamer, loved fishing, and was a devoted fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, WWE wrestling, and baseball. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he inspired those around him to embrace every moment. Above all, Jovan was a loving brother to his little sister (Cher-bear) Cherish, a kind and patient cousin to all his family member and his beloved dogs Meeko and Cali. His gentle spirit and unwavering support for his loved ones made him a pillar of strength in our lives.

Jovan’s legacy will live on in our hearts. He touched so many lives with his kindness, generosity, and love for life. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will forever remain a guiding light for all who knew him.

Jovan was called for his wings May 11, 2025, in Spring Valley, CA. He will join his mother Charmayne Sanford and grandparents Joy Fay and Charles Sanford. He leaves to cherish his memories father Embry Tracy Wesley, Stepmom Claudine Wesley, sister Cherish Wesley, grandparents Carolyn and Embry Wesley, uncle Dewrell Wesley, aunt Aumi Wesley, cousins Carolyn Lashay, Darrion, Dewrell Jr. Wesley, Alshiie Norwood-Scott and a host of family and friends that he will be missed by until they meet again.
