Jerry Lynn Lindsey, born on October 10, 1947, to Mamie Lee Jackson and Elijah Lindsey, embarked on a life journey filled with adventure and passion. Eager to explore the world, Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy, a decision that would shape his character and instill in him a sense of duty and honor.
After his honorable discharge, Jerry pursued higher education, earning a master's degree from the University of San Francisco. He was a lifelong learner, always seeking to expand his horizons intellectually and spiritually.
Settling in San Diego, California, Jerry found his calling in education. He dedicated himself to nurturing young minds as a teacher at Soar Academy East Mesa, where his love for his students and colleagues was palpable. His impact on the lives of those he taught will be remembered for generations to come.
When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free! Miss me a little - but not for long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me, but let me go. For this journey that we all must take And each must go alone; It's all a part of the Master's plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.
