Jeanette Anita Lane was born March 16, 1943 in Sanford, Florida the second of nine children
born to the union of Emery and Mary Lane.
Jeanette graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1961, where she was active in track and field.
In 1964, Jeanette married Fred Williams and the whole family, Fred, Jeanette, Jeffrey
and Fred Jr., relocated to San Diego, California, where they shared a wonderful new life.
Jeanette accepted Christ at an early age and united with Bayview Baptist Church here in San
Diego, where she often attended and enjoyed services.
In 1987, Jeanette married Johnnie Johnson, Jr., the couple shared years of fond memories while
sharing life's joy with family and friends.
In 1999, after thirty years of dedicated service she retired from University of California San Diego.
Always known for having impeccable style and swag, Jeanette was also a meticulous decorator.
Her personal flair and style were evident in every project she put her hands to as well as in her life.
Never forgetting her talent came from above, Jeanette would often say, “To God be the glory.”
Jeanette was heartbroken in 2011 by the unexpected passing of her beloved Son, Fred Williams Jr.
Also preceeding her in death were her Parents, Emery and Mamie Lane. Siblings; Emery Lane Jr.,
Mary E. Lane, Eugene Lane, Johnnie Lane, and Rona Lane.
Family left behind to celebrate her life yet mourning her passing; Her Loving & Devoted Husband, Johnnie Johnson Jr.,
Son, Jeffrey Williams. Granddaughter Whisper, (Chazmann) Williams, Sisters; Lydia (Robert) Wright of New York & Diane Lane of Georgia. Brother, Verdell (Darlene) Lane, of Georgia. Cousins, Mary Evans and Jamie Evans. and a host of extended family and friends.
