A beautiful and kindred Spirit who entered the world December 7, 1939.
Doris La Dell Robinson was a girl and sister who picked cotton, because
Doris La Dell Robinson picked cotton, she was determined to further her
education. Doris La Dell Robinson was a wife and mother who became
a scholar in her own right.
She was an independent, strong willed, intelligent, very proud and
private woman. These are some of the most difficult people to write an
obituary for, because you’re shown what they want you to see when
they want you to see it. I believe her biggest accomplishment was that
she raised four very different children, all with their own strengths and
accomplishments. She was something different to each and every one
of us, all important in their own way but we all love, honor and respect
her, she will be missed.
As Doris La Dell Robinson completes her journey on this plane she leaves
behind: 3 brothers, Lee Watkins Long Junior, Dr. Paul Long, John Wayne
Long; 1 sister: Ruth Long-Pearson; 4 children: a son Godfrey Thompson
who has 4 children, a son Mitchell Lee Thomson who has 3 children, a
daughter Mary Charles Robinson-Austin who has 10 children, Clarence
Wayne Robinson who has one child; many great-grandchildren, and
family.
