With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mrs. Dang Jessie (Tethaisong), beloved
Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend to many. Dang was born in Bangkok,
Thailand, on November 21, 1947, and passed away peacefully in her homeland on April
11, 2025 during a customary visit, surrounded by her loving family and her devoted husband
and companion of 56 years, Mr. Walter F. Jessie.
Dang embarked on a new chapter of life with Walter, and together they built a loving home and
a beautiful life in San Diego, California. She was a dedicated seamstress by trade, a Mother to
one Daughter, and a proud Grandmother of three. Family was the center of Dang’s world, and
she was known for her deep love, unmatched hospitality, and unwavering commitment to caring
for others.
Her days were filled with simple joys — fishing, planting vegetables, tending to her cherished
rose garden, and cooking unforgettable meals that brought loved ones together. Dang’s kitchen
was the heart of her home, and no one ever left hungry. Her warm smile, positive spirit, and
generous heart left a lasting impression on all whom knew her.
A woman of quiet faith and quiet strength, Dang carried herself with grace and humility. She had
a special gift for nurturing others, offering care, comfort, and compassion to anyone in need. Her
presence was a blessing, and her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of those
she touched, although make no mistake... Dang did NOT play. She was fiery, quick-witted, and never
one to hold her tongue. If something needed to be said, she said it....with love and with
firmness. She had a way of keeping everyone in line and made sure no one dared to get on her
bad side. Her boldness, honesty, and protective spirit were part of what made her unforgettable.
Dang is survived by her loving Husband, Walter F. Jessie; her Daughter, Ann Chapman
(Efrahyim Chapman) and her Grandchildren, Jeannette Jessie-Russell (Markel Russell, Sr.),
Maetane Jessie-Scott, and Jade Chapman. She also leaves behind four Great-Grandchildren:
Markel Jr., Jordyn, Marcellus, and Jaliyah Russell. Dang is remembered with love by her Sisters
and Brothers in Thailand, Nikki: Sawaeng Chantharat, Dum: Thongjan Tethaisong, Joy: Suwan
Tethaisong, Wason Tethaisong, Supeastar: Thongjan Tethaisong,Yai Tam: Tam Deesungneon,
her Sisters-in-Love Geraldine Hill (Clayton Hill) and Jacqueline Forjais, as well as a host of
Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, extended family, and cherished friends.
Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, resilience, and kindness. She will be deeply missed and
forever remembered.
