Cheryl “Cha Cha'' Sevier was born on January 19, 1954 in San Diego, California and was the youngest of four children born to Alexander and Celeste Sevier. Cheryl grew up in a modest Christian home which molded her into a woman that was always thankful and happy. She attended the local elementary, Jr & high schools.
After high school Cheryl worked for CBS Channel 8 for 10 years, which allowed her access to meet and collect autographs from such noteable celebrities as LaToya Jackson and Billy Dee Williams just to name a couple. She was also able to become friends with newscasters and radio personalities across all four of KFMB’s stations. Cheryl even took Jocelyn to a taping of "The Care Bears" once.
in the late 80s Cheryl decided to switch gears and change her career. She accepted a position with McDonalds on Naval Training Center base where she ultimately met her soon to be husband, George P. Taylor. Cheryl continued to work her way up to restaurant management at he base and eventually married George in 1994.
During her lifetime she touched many people and made a vow to give back to the community with a mission of her own when it came to saving the world. Cheryl taught her daughter
the importance and value of money while minimizing the human carbon footprint through the practice of recycling. Cheryl saved every cent she recycled for two years andeven saved enough to put a down payment on a new vehicle.
Cheryl didnt just teach you about the tools to succeed in life, she utilized them as well. Cheryl’s home was a safe haven for her nieces, nephews and her
daughter's friends, she also opened her home to two foster children. In 1995 Cheryl began volunteering for Paradise Valley Hospitaland encouraged her daughter to join her six months later.
The duo eventually took over the Life Line Department, which was an emergency service for the elderly that lived alone. Cheryl ran the day-to-day operation, while Jocelyn did the equipment
installations. Cheryl later served as the hospital's PBX operator and eventually became a lab technician there as well.
In 1999, Mother and Daughter labored alongside Jocelyn's "Auntie" Michelle Smith in an after school program at the Oxnard Community Center in Chula Vista. Cheryl and Jocelyn
eventually enrolled and attended Southwestern College together. The Mother/Daughter duo received multiple Child Development Certificates together while simultamously caring for adults with disabilities, children with mental illnesses and working with Child Protective Services at the Polinski Center of San Diego.
By the early 2000’s Cheryl was ready to take on the world. Since caring for people was natural to her. She started working for caregiving agencies and by 2010 she started her own business
and began doing private duty caregiving. In 2013 Cheryl was involved in an accident that almost took her life. The strength in her did not let it take her spirit. After breaking 6 ribs, her back,
losing the skin off her arm and now being told the only way to continue living was with dialysis. Her daughter Jocelyn took over and became her mom’s caregiver.
While Cheryl was recovering she took care of her Aunt Ola Toliver until she became 100 and God called her aunt home. Since Cheryl’s accident in 2013 she had to retire but she did not
stop. She continued spreading her love and joy to the community and everyone around her. Cheryl even stepped in to help her daughter with her dreams by becoming an office assistant,
craft services and producer of KaoticKlone Productions. The last 10 years of Cheryl’s life was full of friends, a busy tv/movie producer career and lots of traveling. COVID did not even stop
Cheryl. She rode up the Pacific Coast Highway 1, Los Angeles, Solvang and Palm Springs to name a few.
On April 17th, 2023 God called “Cha Cha” home to receive eternal rest. Now Cheryl and George can live happily ever after. Cheryl leaves her only child Jocelyn Sevier-Smith & soon to be
daughter in-law Karma. She leaves her brother Rodney Sevier and his wife Susie. Nieces and nephews Gwen, Jimmy, Cheryl, Carol, Jason, Melody, David, Amy, Sarah and Steven. Cheryl

The heart of a caregiver is a rare element on earth They define the true meaning and value of God’s worth. The soul of a caregiver is precious and pure Their spirits are heavenly, of that I am sure The selfless compassion and love that they share Provides relief, joy, and comfort just knowing they’re there Their efforts often unnoticed, full of strength and emotion Bring peace to the heavens with angelic devotion Many nights they are restless, their minds filled with unease because they devote their lives to tend to others’ needs There is none more deserving than one with the caregiver ability They show peace, love, and mercy and give our loved ones dignity
Caregiver, a special place in heaven is waiting for you.....
