Annie parents Finnus & Hattie Mae were bless with a baby girl, on April 23,1938. Annie grow up in Greenwood Mississippi with her 2 Brothers, Walter and Finnus Jr. and her 6 Sister “Bobby”, “EddieMae”, “Johnny”, “Cherry”, “Von” and “Vie”.
Annie romance begin when she found the man God created just for her, Herbert Sims Sr. They married in the year 1954 on Christmas Day. Their Love has been going strong for 67 years.
Annie and Herbert moved to San Diego, CA the year of 1955 on a Greyhound bus.
They have 3 Sons, Deacon Herbert Sims Jr., Michael Sims Sr. and Rev. Thomas Sims. And 1 Daughter Shanetta Sims LaZarus.
2 Daughter-in-laws, Charlotte “Cookie” Sims and Ethel Sims and 1 son-in-law Brian LaZarus Sr. And a God Daughter Alice Rollins.
Annie B.’s grandkids ….Michael Jr., Marquee, Shevonte {John}, Nicolette, Kiawna {Cory}, Shetashia {Quentin}, Brittani, Cheveya, Brian II. {Jasmine}, Herbert III, Xzavier, Kenyon, Nicholas and LaNiece. Annie also has 22 great grand kids and 4 great, great grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews.
Annie was known for being a seamstress, a in-house hairdresser. She had a DayCare center for over 40 years. She helped the church provide food and care packages for the homeless. Helped buy tickets for teens to attend the church field trips.
Her and Herbert belonged to a motorhome club “The Cruisers” where they would camp around San Diego. There they made many long lasting friendships.
Annie was a special person that you can come and just talk to when you had a problem, or just needed to talk. She would also tell you the truth when your wrong or not and she did not sugar coat it.
Annie B. (Sims) will truly be missed and never forgotten and loved always.
