APRIL WAI~YEE FUNG

April Wai Yee Fung, aged 77, slipped into the arms of the Lord on November 14, 2024.
She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend whom will be deeply missed by all
whom knew her.

April was born on May 15, 1947, in Canton, China, then moved to Hong Kong at a
young age. She later relocated to the United States in search of a better life where she
attended and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey earning a
degree in Business. April eventually moved from the East Coast to the West Coast on a
quest to find the perfect weather to raise her asthmatic daughter. She eventually settled
down in San Diego, California and became a manager at Total Electronics. She retired
after many years of dedicated service. Throughout her career, she was known for her
strong work ethic and for always helping others.

Family was extremely important to April, she not only made a life for herself here in the
United States, she also made it possible for the rest of her siblings to relocate and
prosper here as well.

In retirement she loved spending time with family, especially trips to Disneyland and
frequently traveling to Las Vegas with her sister; Juliana and her two Brothers, cooking
dinner for family on holidays, special occasions or for friendly gatherings as well as
regularly attending the gym. April was dependable and always there to lend a helping
hand to those in need. She was known among family and friends to be extremely
generous with whatever she had.

She was always an active member of her community, often volunteering at various
hospitals as well as her own personal homeless ministry, distributing many sleeping
bags to the city’s unhoused. April was an active choir member for many years at St.
Joseph Cathedral and later found a home at the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá.

April left to cherish her memory and wisdom; Daughter, Amy, Granddaughter, Isabelle,
Son in Law, Shahin. two Sisters; Juliana & Winnie as well as two Brothers; Oliver &
Tinny as well as friends and church family that will continue her legacy of compassion
and help towards others.
