Alden Bertruc “A.B. / Brother /Uncle Brother” Taylor, born on July 26,
1940 in Tucson, Arizona, was the youngest son of Bishop E.J. and
Clara Taylor. He attended the University of Arizona, where he was a
high jumper and 400 meter sprinter on the track team. In 1961, he
married Ida V. Davis. That same year, he joined the United States
Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam, multiple deployments and retiring
honorably after 20 years in San Diego. Following his military career,
A.B. built his own landscaping business.
A.B. enjoyed Christmas, swimming, his backyard pool parties, tacos,
cigars, rum and coke, blues music, dominos, and a good card game.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Alicia Kay (Lisa), his first
wife Ida, his brother Ike, and his wife Dorothy. He leaves to cherish his
memory two sisters, Mary Robinson and Jean Tease, his daughters
Lorri Taylor, Cynthia Jordan (Carlton), and Cheryle Bridges (Gerald);
his sons Alden Taylor Jr. and Trenton Taylor; seven grandchildren
(Christopher, Bryce, Alysha, Jazmin, Cabrea, Ashley, and Taylor);
sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and
friends.
A.B. lived a life of service, strength, and joy. His legacy continues
through the love of his family and the memories shared by all who
knew him.
