Adam Victoria entered this earthly life on February 8, 1947, in Eunice Louisiana and was the first born to the late Adam and Julia Victoria. From this union two children were born, Adam Victoria and Margaret Victoria Hunt. After years of living in Eunice, Adam, his mother, and sister moved to Port Arthur Texas. It was in Texas that his mother met and married Paul Dugas and from this union Cynthia, Roger, Paula and Ethel Dugas was born.
Adam graduated from Lincoln High school in Port Arthur Texas. He was a member of a small singing group and played football as a running back. He met and married Linda after high school. From that union they had their first daughter, Chenequa. After the birth of their baby girl, Adam enlisted into the Navy. They were blessed with a total of four children: Chenequa, Arvaunti, Adaminah, and Anasa. While in the Navy he served in the fighter squadron and was stationed in Vietnam and Guam. He was able to continue his passion in playing football while in Guam, becoming a powerhouse football player.
After serving his time in the Navy he received an honorable discharge. He furthered his education by attending Mesa College in San Diego and played football. He transferred to SDSU where he was once again able to continue his love for football, playing under the late coach Don Cornell who later became an NFL head coach. Adam use to talk for hours about his football days. A memorable occasion for Adam was when SDSU had a alumni reunion and everyone who played in the '70s and '80s were asked to wear their jacket and given front row seats to the football game. At some point during the game the former players were asked to come down to the field to be recognized.
Adam accepted Christ at an early age and attended church with his mother who loved praising the Lord. He also sang in the choir and served on the deacon board at Mt. Olive Church of God and Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor Cooper. Later he joined New Mt Hermon Baptist Church under leadership of the late Pastor McDonald Sr. New Mt Hermon became IMPAC Baptist church which would merge with New Horizon Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor McDonald Jr.
After college he was employed at Kaiser Permanente Hospital as a security guard, and at General Dynamics Aircraft as a plant protection officer. It was in October of 1985 while working at General Dynamics, his task that day was to check badges. Well, he did just that singling out Renell Patton, asking for her telephone number. They did eventually marry and remained together until his passing.
Adam was very serious about his home and job. Many occasions he would teach you life lessons sharing his life experiences, and sharing lectures that was shared with him before a big game. Doing his past time, he enjoyed playing chess, dominoes, fishing, hunting, and bowling with his friends. Every Monday he went to breakfast with friends. He was a giving person and loved helping people. As his health declined when food was brought to him if a visitor was present, he would offer them his food.
