Tekleberhan Yosief Habtezghi

Mr. Tekleberhan Yosief Habtezghi was born in Asmara to his father Mr. Yosief Habtezghi and his mother Mrs. Mehreta Beraki in January 1st 1964. Tekleberhan started his education in Asmara in Agazian Elementary school before he transferred to Prince Mekonnen High School for his Secondary education. Due to the historical massive polical movement, and urban uprisings for the independence of Eritrea, Tekleberhan like all patriotic youth of the time was inspired to join the field for an armed struggle with the Eritrean Liberation Front in 1975. After he completed his military training he was assigned to combat forces and he was admired by his compatriots for being a fearless warrior who fought alongside his comrades with dedication until 1981 when his organization was pushed out to the Sudan in a war conspired by the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front, and  Tigray Peoples’ Liberation Front. Tekleberhan had lost two sons Awet, and Gelawdeos, and their mother Seidi Ali few years ago.  

Teklebrhan and his wife Mrs. Freweini Ghebremichael were married in Sudan in 1992. They left Sudan in 1993, and came to The United States of America and resettled in the city of San Diego California. Their children Debub, Aron, Gideon, Musie were born in San Diego. Tekleberhan’s life was suddenly interrupted by an ailment that turned to be the Chronic and ended his life on Friday December 6th, 2019 at Scripps Mercy hospital.

Tekleberhan passed away peacefully while well attended by his wife, his kids and friends. He is now survived by his wife Freweini Gebremichael his daughter Debub, and sons Aron, Gideon, and Mussie. At the end, we pray to the lord to receive his soul in the heavens, and give the family strength to endure in these worst times. We want to thank all friends, and relatives who sent messages of condolences, all contributed to the services, and all those who attended supported and comforted our family; we are deeply grateful!
