RYAN A. LEWIS Obituary

RYAN ANGELO LEWIS was born January 14, 2003 in San Diego, California to loving parents, Othello and Felicia Lewis. Ryan was mostly quiet and shy until early grade school.  Most of his time was spent with family, where he was especially close to his brother Robert and sister Destiny. His only school was City Tree Christian, where he was honored as one of very few to attend for twelve years starting in early pre-school; which is why it’s easy to recognize City Tree as his extended family. Ryan was gifted athletically with his first love being basketball. His second love was also of a competitive nature; it was video gaming. At the age of seven, he was introduced to the soccer video game “Fifa” by his cousin Zachary. Ryan not only fell in love with the game, but also the sport, with Barcelona being his favorite team and Messi his favorite player. That was culminated by a trip to Barcelona to watch them play as a gift from the “Make a Wish Foundation”.
To know Ryan was indeed to love Ryan. His adorable, humorous, caring and engaging personality became infectious. He received numerous awards while attending City Tree, with the most coming from acts of kindness. So it was no surprise that in his final year there, he was voted school president.

During the last five years of his life, Ryan battled with cancer. Even with declining physical abilities, Ryan’s bright personality shined through; still caring more about the next person which showed the most during his final moments, when after his dad had been standing by his bedside for hours holding his hand, Ryan with barely any strength tried to slide over in his bed. His dad asked him what was he trying to do, and he replied “I want to give you more room to rest your arm”. During Ryan’s courageous fight, he fought a good fight, he finished his course and he kept the faith.

On Wednesday morning, March 7, 2018 at 1:10 A.M., Ryan Angelo Lewis was summoned home to be with his Heavenly Father. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted parents, Othello and Felicia Lewis; his caring brother, Robert and sister, Destiny; doting grandparents, Robert and Shirley Lewis and a host of cousins, uncles, aunts and many, many friends, who will mourn his passing, yet celebrate his legacy of love.
