Gloria Denise Weaver-Williams was born May 8, 1957 in San Diego, California, to Robert B. Weaver and Connelia M. Weaver-Smith. Her birth name was Gloria, but she was affectionately known as “Necee.” She was the second child of six children, three boys and three girls by Robert and Connelia Weaver. The family attended Bethel Baptist Church in San Diego, California. At a young age, Gloria confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized. Gloria was the mother of Makenya Gildn, she later married Roy Williams, and to that union one child was born, Measha Williams. She later gave birth to her youngest son, Marcellus Simmons.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Makenya Gildon and Measha Williams; a son, Marcellus Simmons; two sisters, Beverly Doris McGee-Sawyers and husband Jimmy of Spring, Texas and Linda Suseberry of San Diego, California; three brothers, Robert Weaver, Jr., of Humble, Texas, Marvin K. Weaver of San Diego, California, and Henry F. Weaver, Sr. and his wife Donna of San Diego, California; six grandchildren, DeAnte Roberts, Malik Villa, Mikyla Villa, Yolanda and Isaiah and Heiress Simmons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
