May 7, 1956 ~ December 9, 2017 (age 61) 61 Years OldBilly Joe Withers, affectionally known as BJ, was born May 7, 1956 in Pine Bluff Arkansas to Willie Withers Sr. and Agnes Dow. His formative years were spent in Pine Bluff where he was known to be a prankster bringing laughter to all he met. The family moved from Pine Bluff Arkansas in 1971 to Indianapolis, Indiana where he graduated from Emmanuel High School.
Billy Joe confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the Burton Temple CME Church, Indianapolis, Indiana. He contributed his time and labor to beautify the church, and to help his brother organize the church. BJ loved to have a good time playing dominoes. He was a dominologist who never walked away from a game of Dominoes that involved money. Although he would stand and taunt during the game, “Put a dollar on it, Let’s make this interesting, “ his winnings were often times overshadowed by a dark suspicion of cheating.
BJ was preceded in death by his parents Willie Withers and Agnes Dow, Beverly K. Johnson who was the love of his life, his siblings, Willie Withers Jr., Maurice Withers, Robert lee Dow, Lessie Kelly. He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Michael Glen, Billie Withers Jr., and Joe Bob Walton; his siblings Rev. Dr. Earl D. Hudson, Annett Cross, Carolyn Mcdonald (William), Shar-ron Bullock (Michael); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
