Bessie Chestang Obituary
On October 14 1924, Bessie was born to Reverend John E. Overstreet and Annie Overstreet in Wiggins, Mississippi. She was the youngest of nine children. During her youth, she accepted Christ at Bethlehem Baptist in Wiggins. After moving to San Diego, California, she met Mr. Samuel Lee Chestang and the two of them began as one on July 2, 1949. Three adorable children were born to their union. Samuel passed away on January 1, 2007.
Bessie was a loving, gentle person who enjoyed meeting people and sharing Jesus Christ with them, wherever she went.
On July 28, 2018, Bessie Ada Chestang was ready to meet her Savior with a smile on her face. We were blessed have her in our lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, seven siblings and her son-in-law.
She is survived by her son, Adrian Chestang (Lorraine); two daughters, Valeria Parker and Stephanie Chestang; one sister, Louise Overstreet; four grandsons, one granddaughter-in-law; four great granddaughters and a host of other relatives and friends to celebrate her homegoing.
