ROSA LOUISE BARNES, affectionately known to all as “LOUISE” was born January 16, 1941 in Pensacola , Florida. She was the seventh of eight children born to the late Arkansas & Ed Donaldson. She attended elementary school in the little school house in Millview Florida & secondary school at Julie Andrews school in Pensacola. Louise accepted Christ at an early age.

On January 7th 1963 Louise married Willie R Barnes & with this union they were blessed with two loving children, Katrina Lynn Barnes & Douglas Ray Barnes.

Late in 1963, Louise moved to San Diego, California, making it her permanent residence. Sometime after her arrival, she began employment at Miramar Naval Air station we’re she worked for 31 ½ years. She made many lasting friendships throughout her 31 ½ years of service at Miramar. Afterwards, she found employment with IHSS of San Diego as a Home Health aid. She worked there for many years.

Louise was a long time member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist church under the leadership Rev. Michael Morrow. She wore many hats in church. She was active on the Trustee board, She was a lead singer in the choir. Louise was faithful in service until her health began to deteriorate. 

Louise was a devoted and loving person. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a great grandmother. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend. She was affectionately known as “weeze”, Momma, Grand ma louise, or simply Mrs. Barnes. She played a key role in the upbringing of her granddaughter. Louise loved the holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company. She was known for her pig feet, Chitlins, smoked oyster stuffing, collard greens, pound cake and candy praline pecans. Louise had many passions. She was an amazing Piano player. She enjoyed singing praise until our lord. She was a fashionista who enjoyed shopping with her Granddaughter.  She also enjoyed traveling with family. Her heart and her generosity had no limits, she loved to give her time and love to others and was always willing to give just a little bit more. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
