Dianne Dumas was called to rest on Thursday, September 29, 2016. She

was born January 6, 1942 in Homer, Louisiana. She was the fifth child born to Albert and Donzell Lewis. Dianne confessed Christ as her personal Savior at an early age.  She received her primary Education in the Claiborne Parish School District, where she attended Homer Junior / Senior High School.

She arrived in San Diego, California during the late 1950s, where she began worshipping at Ark Missionary Baptist Church.  She completed he education at San Diego High School and went on to nursing school. She worked in nursing and care giving field for over forty years.

During the early 1960s, Dianne met George T. Dumas. They were later united in Holy Matrimony during the late 1970s.

She enjoyed reading, talking and getting in your business if you let her; but she sure didn’t want you in her business. I know she’s looking down on me now saying “You need to get ready to shut this down; you’re about to tell too much.

She was an Eastern Star for many years. She was also a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Dumas; daughter, Patricia Whiteside; her parents, Albert and Donzell Lewis; three sisters, Thelma Wafer, Flora Lee Scott and Donnie Ruth Malone.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her sister, Lula Mae Wells of San Diego, CA; loving children, Stephanie Cannon of Ruleville, MS; George Dumas Jr. (Mary) of Fort Worth, TX; Regina Smith of San Diego, CA; Donna Clark (Aaron) of San Diego, CA and Ronald Dumas of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Lynetta Paris, Grover Whiteside III, great-grandchildren, Mercedes Chapman, Torey Paris Jr., Samaya Paris, Sage Whiteside, Samai Whiteside and Sakarah Whiteside; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
