Annie Mae Holmes accepted Jesus Christ in her home town of Bernice Louisana. She moved from Louisana to Little Rock Arkansas and later arrived in San Diego 1962. Mother Holmes united with New Jerusalem in 1994 and  became the mother of the church in 2003.  She's been given a few awards for her dedicated and faithful service. She loved "Amazing Grace" and "I Won't Complain". Mother was President of the Women's Mission Dept, she was the Chair of the Mother's Board.  Mother and Deacon Holmes were very faithful members of the Sunday School, and mid-week prayer and Bible Study classes, until her health started to fail her.  Mother was always encouraging you, even from her sick bed.  When Mother Holmes was active , she had a way of correcting you in Love when you got out of place., and You could never get mad at her, because she was Mother.  Mother and Deacon Holmes were very faithful in giving of their tithes up til the very end.  Mother loved New Jerusalem,  she was always looking at ways that she could do more for the church from her sick bed.  That's commitment and dedication and love in action. Annie Mae met and married the love of her life Hurbert Holmes of 44 years.  Annie and Hurbert spent many hours, years fishing and praising the Lord in their chuch. Annie was kind-hearted  "The Matriarch" who expemplified the true nature of An Angel and Child of GOD!
